Aircraft Carriers , The definitive overview

The World Encyclopedia of Aircraft Carriers, like its sister books delights through its visual aspects. It features some incredible pictures and some interesting historical tidbits of the in between war years, covering what some might call obscure military naval encounters. On top of that it also provides information on aircraft carrier design projects, which never came to fruition but showed military naval thinking at the time. It is a great book, especially for its eye on detail, not limited to actual carriers but also to several projects which never saw the light of day.

This title was bought for my uncle who spent 22 years in the Fleet Air Arm serving on many carriers in the 60s 70s and 80s.He found the book very informative containing many photographs that he had not seen before, not even in his extensive collection of naval books. He found the book hard to put down.
